  Mike Love continues to be a real ass. He personally has ended one of the best rock and roll stories of the summer by dropping three original members from the Beach Boys. The 50th Anniversary tour called Keepin’ the Summer Alive in the UK will be ending this week.  The Beach Boys will continue to tour shortly after however Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks will not be part of it. Making matters appear even worse is that the three found out about their fate via a public statement. That’s a long long while since a “Long Long While” played second fiddle to the “A” side of the UK single, “Paint It Black” … then the current chart topper by Rock’s Bad Boys back in Summer ‘66. And yep!  I waited 39 years and a long long while to see the return of  “therollingstones*” to ….. The Hollywood Bowl.  From teenager to fifty-something, I am wai-ting … ting … I am wai-ting … ting … oh yeah oh yeah! On 25th July 1966, Buffalo Springfield opened for therollingstones* … but I was no longer a 17 year old kid and now had a lifetime of concert memories embedded in this old grey-matter & matted brain....

    East coast music fans will be in for quite the treat this fall as Little Feat has just announced that they had added six shows with the legendary Leon Russell. As of now these are the only six shows that are confirmed. As of this writing we’re not sure if more will be added. Check back here as we will add information as it becomes available. Leon Russell does not tour often so this is a rare chance to see a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer playing on the same stage with the band that deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.       Mark Knopfler’s facebook page shared some bad news for his US fans today.  Hopefully this will put some pressure on Warner Brothers to work out a deal. Here’s the statement Privateering will not be released in the US. There is a contractual dispute between Mark and Warner Brothers which has resulted in the current situation. The record has been released in all other territories in the world as usual by Universal Music. We are disappointed that Mark’s record won’t be released in the US and if the situation changes an updated statement will be issued. Very many thanks for your continued support.   What a week it has been for Led Zeppelin. It started with a facebook countdown and ended with a simple video announcement. Earlier this week the band began placing unannounced “Countdown” numbers on their facebook page. What did they mean? What actually were they counting down to?? Before we received that answer, which officially came today, we were given another bit of cool Led Zeppelin News.  The bad will be a Kennedy Center Honoree on December 4th. The ceremony will be telecast here in the States on CBS on December 26th.   The will share the honors with  blues man Buddy Guy, actor Dustin Hoffman, comedian/TV host David Letterman, and ballerina Natalia Makarova.
