Country Singer Randy Travis Hospitalized in Critical Condition Country singer Randy Travis, 54 has been admitted to a Dallas, Texas hospital in critical condition, according to a public relations representative. Travis was admitted Sunday for treatment of viral cardiomyopathy, a heart condition caused by a viral infection that affects the heart tissue’s ability to pump blood. “Viral cardiomyopathy can be caused by 30-plus different viruses, but it’s almost impossible to pinpoint which virus it is,” said Dr. Ramin Oskoui, a cardiologist and internal medicine specialist in Washington. “Hospitals use viral cardiomyopathy as a ‘catch all’ diagnosis.” “To say that Mr. Travis’ alcohol use exacerbated his problems would be pure speculation, but if someone told me alcohol played a role...

The Replacements to play Riot Fest in Toronto, Chicago and Denver
The Replacements to play Riot Fest in Toronto, Chicago and Denver It started as a hot rumor today. Now it’s official. The Replacements will be playing all three Riot Fest concerts this fall. The Fests are August 24-25 in greater Toronto, September 13-15 in Chicago and September 21 and 22 in Denver Colorado. Riot Fest has already begun changing their posters to show the addition of The Replacements to the bill. We’re not sure exactly who will be playing along with Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson. Ray Manzarek, Founding Member of The Doors, Passes Away at 74 Ray Manzarek, keyboardist and founding member of The Doors, passed away today at 12:31PM PT at the RoMed Clinic in Rosenheim, Germany after a lengthy battle with bile duct cancer. He was 74. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his wife Dorothy Manzarek, and his brothers Rick and James Manczarek.
