My Morning Jacket’s Jim James to Release Solo Album this Year

There is very little known as far as details at this point, but My Morning Jacket’s Jim James has confirmed publicly that he will have a solo album later this year.

The announcement was made in a not yet published interview with Paste Magazine.  This would be his first solo release since Jim, (As Yim Yames) released an EP of George Harrison covers in 2009.

He’s also recently was part of a Woody Guthrie tribute album called New Multitudes and also performed a duet with John Prine on John’s Broken Hearts and Dirty Windows: Song of John Prine.  On that album they covered “All The Best” You can hear a live performance of the track below.
