These Bands/Individuals are NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

Poco

Well we know the 2013 nominees now. So now I’m going to update the list of bands and individuals that we started a few years back that are NOT yet in.  (if you missed them they are Rush, Procol Harum, Deep Purple, The Meters, Chic, The Marvelettes, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Randy Newman, Heart, Albert King, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, NWA, Kraftwerk, Public Enemy and Donna Summer.)

This is not an endorsement for these bands. In fact, there are more than just a few that I personally would not vote for but if I get email and support for them I’ve added them. It’s just a list to show how screwed up this whole thing is. You’ll probably agree with some and disagree with some.  But that’s OK.

I’d suggest visiting often. I’m going to be adding to this thing all the time.  I think it’s going to have a pretty permanent place.

BTW, PLEASE be sure to LIKE our facebook page. We have a ton of musical fun there discussing stuff like this. Click on the link on the right.

So Let’s Start.  In alphabetical order…..

As I mentioned this is a quick and incomplete list. Feel free to add to the suggestions below.  And check back. I’ll be adding to the list!

Also, this year is the first year that the Rock and Roll fan has a say. Here’s link to the official ballot where you can voted for FIVE of this years nominees. HERE’S THE LINK

Added Hokey! I can’t believe I missed that one. That was my band in the mid 80s. Duh!!! I couldn’t agree more. I think what might be hurting them is the way they’ve gone on and on with out Phil. People might forget how great they were.

WAR was finally nominated in 2009 and 2011. In 2011 they decided to induct the Beastie Boys instead, who sample WAR’s song ‘LOWRIDER’. SMDH!!
