Black Sabbath to Release New Album and Tour in 2013.

Look for a new Black Sabbath album in 2013.  Look for a nice lengthy tour from the band as well.

We’ve not heard any official announcement as of yet, but guitarist Tony Iommi shared this news via his website.

What a year!  Certainly not the one I was expecting.

Thanks to you all for your massive help and support, it was very encouraging.  I’m still working on the album and managed to play three shows, not bad given the news a year ago.  I’m looking forward to next year, seeing what you think of the record and touring as much as we’re able.

My Best Wishes to you all, I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year, most of all, stay positive,

-Tony

This will be the first new album of Black Sabbath music with Ozzy Osbourne on vocals since Never Say Die which was released in 1978. This can’t be called the first new album with all original members since as of this writing Bill Ward is not part of either project.

The first few dates for the tour have been announced.

  • April 20, Auckland, Vector Arena
  • April 22, Auckland, Vector Arena
  • April 25, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
  • April 27, Sydney, Allphones Arena
  • April 29, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
  • May 1, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
  • May 4, Perth, Perth Arena
  • May 12, Tokyo, Makuhari Messe

Stop back as we’ll be adding dates to that listing as we receive them.

Saw this set in person. They were much better than I ever thought they would be.
