Van Morrison “Enlightenment”

Today’s Cool Album of the Day (#257 in the Series) is Van Morrison, Enlightenment.

Why Enlightenment and not some of the more popular Van Morrison albums?  Because Enlightenment includes the track, ‘Real, Real Gone’ that’s why.  It’s one of my favorite songs of all time.

Van Morrison

I was putting the playlist together to give you videos below.  The first five songs were an easy find.  I was more than a little angry when I could not find the video for the sixth song, ‘The Day’s Before Rock and Roll.’  This is another one of my favorite songs. What a great piece.

Below you’ll also see the link to the ‘Cool Album of the Day’ MySpace Page. You can listen to it there. In fact, you can also listen to many of the albums we’ve featured there. We’re constantly adding links and more albums so check back.

The title track is another gem.  Also don’t miss ‘Avalon of the Heart.’

You already know most of those blockbuster Van Morrison releases. Please give this one a listen as well. It stands up to all those. In some cases it even outshines them. Give it a spin.

Enlightenment peaked at #62 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart.

Van Morrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993,
